Are you wanting to display your most popular posts by day, week, month, and all time in WordPress? Popular posts allow your visitors to quickly discover your top content to help improve user engagement and page views. In this video, we will show you how to display popular posts by day, week, month, and all time in WordPress.
For this tutorial, we will be using the plugin WordPress Popular Posts plugin found here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-popular-posts/
Start by installing and activating the WordPress Popular Posts plugin then go under Appearance, Widgets to add the WordPress Popular posts widget to one of your widget areas. You have the option to choose the time range for deciding which is most popular as well as what post types to include.
For displaying the widget with multiple date ranges you would want to use the Ultimate Tabbed widget plugin found here:
Ultimate Tabbed Widgets
With that activated there will be a new widget area for you to add your widgets labeled 'Default Tabbed Widget Area'. Add all of the widgets you would like in the tabbed area then add the widget titled 'Ultimate Tabbed Widgets' where you want the widgets from the tabbed widget area to appear in your sidebars.
Now when you visit the front end of your site your widgets that are in the tabbed widget area will appear in one widget with tabs at the top that you can change views using.
